This department has been functioning since the inception of the College. In this department, classical texts, i.e Charak Samhita, Astanga Hridaya, Ayurved Itihas and Sanskrit etc. are taught. Sanskrit teaching is imparted to improve the grammatical and literary knowledge of the students for better understanding of the classical tests. This department has its own museum containing various charts. The Saiddhantika OPD is managed by this department.
